A Blast From the Past: Hen-Zemi

You know I never thought I’d ever write about this ever again. Honestly. It’s been almost eight months since we decided to drop Hen-Zemi, much to the chagrin of people we knew. But hey, times do change, so I will tell you now that it has been picked up by Japanzai. Regardless of my personal opinion of Japanzai at large, the TL in charge, krachek, had the courtesy to contact us about it, so I figured I’d endorse it a bit.

So yeah, if you were a fan of Hen-Zemi, and were still waiting somehow, wait no longer.

Also, since it has been so long, I might as well say publicly why we ended up dropping it back then.

Volume 2 Pre-orders Start Today!

As to not inundate the release post with all this stuff, I figured I’ll just do it separately. So yes, volume 2 will be coming out in May, it seems, so pre-orders have begun. What’s in store for this volume? I have no idea, but I’ll buy 2+ copies again just because I can. Once again, I’ll provide (non-affiliate) links where you can buy and stuff. Also please don’t hate her for her Beats. (For the record, I use Miophones, with a Fiio E10.)

I personally recommend BK1 or CDJapan with SAL shipping (2-4 weeks), or EMS (1-2 weeks) if you can afford it. A guide can be written if you have no idea how to use BK1, since it’s not that hard. YesAsia has problems with displaying if things are sold out, thus you may get back-ordered. Amazon JP will literally wreak havoc on your money with shipping, use it as a last resort.

Despite delays for multiple series, we pick up another one, from the vault.

So yeah, we have another new series that has been ‘picked up’. To be perfectly honest, we’ve had this sitting around for almost as long as we’ve been a group. Partially because an unfortunate soul has done the first two chapters as well–with the terrible share raws–but it’s mostly because I’m just a horribly lazy person.

Thus cue the magnificent K, who has graced us with his presence, and swooped in and did these first two chapters in under 26 hours! Absolutely crazy. (You may know him from the iM@S circuit.) A gentleman and a scholar.

So what is Sorairo Square? Well, it’s is a story of three childhood friends who split up and have now come back together after all these years. But, what’s this? They form a lovey dovey love-triangle? And there are multiple twists?! One could only assume no good can come from this. Or can it?

All in all, it’s a treat to read and work on. Also Don’t Cry, Girl and Houkago Play will be out soon too. Probably. Hopefully.

/a/nother Triumph for Manga: Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou

Anyway, here is another one of this triumphs for manga, and scanlation in as a whole. A random chapter picked up by various Anonymous, for Anonymous, and the world at large, to enjoy. Little did OP know that his simple thread would spiral into such a wonderful thing. Hell, I didn’t know I would help end up causing something similar six months ago.

So why am I excited for this? Because Monster Girls are a integral part of /a/ culture. (I seriously hope you’ve gotten your healthy dose of HORA recently.) Also because while totally not doing what I’m supposed to be doing–that is typesetting Don’t Cry Girl/Houkago Play–I made shoddy levels for them to clean/typeset on.

If you have no idea what this is, it’s essentially a manga based on the same exact concept from comics, sharing the same name, from a few years ago. They’re NSFW, obviously, but they’re moe, and I heard moe things are kind of a big deal.

Either way the ‘moral’ of the story is that /a/ is the best scanlator in the whole damn world.
Again, this is not released by us! But support it anyway!

After over a month of sitting on an order, it finally got shipped and arrived today!

Even though we scanlate this manga, and managed to do something no scanlator has done before, we have to buy our own copies too you know. Though it was my own fault for short-cutting and getting it from YesAsia, not expecting it to be delayed this long. (Don’t order there.)

Anyways, there’s more needed to be said after the break if you are interested, which I hope you are…!

tl;dr – Houkago Play is ending, we need a new manga, there’s a list you can choose from, or recommend your own in the comments, tell your “friends”, also leave any scanlation-related questions if you have some.

Obligatory Holiday Greetings

As most will do around this time, here’s a Happy Holidays post for you RSS cats out there.

Admittedly we didn’t really prepare anything special since にんげん and I haven’t had a chance to discuss much of anything at all, with him traversing the world like a world warrior, and me being confined to my bed with a assortment illnesses and such. But somehow we’ve managed to last almost a year though, and that itself is pretty darn awesome, if I do say so myself.
